Daniel Soranzo

I am a 2nd year Masters student in the Couples and Family Lab at The Catholic University of America. I am interested in nonverbal communication and the role it plays in relationships, both platonic and romantic. I am currently involved in two projects at the lab. In the first project we are trying to determine how to measure/code happiness during couple interactions using behavioral coding system. In the second project, we focus on Emotional Skillfulness of couples during video recorded interactions. To do this, we watch couple videos during a constructive conflict resolution interaction and rate their emotional skillfulness based on a coding system. With skills and experience I have gained, I plan to pursue a doctoral degree in social psychology. I anticipate doing research regarding relationships and how to strengthen them using nonverbal communication.
